YORBA LINDA

The City Council is expected to vote tonight on a plan to demolish the B&B; Chevrolet building on Imperial Highway and put automotive repair shops and a storage business in its place. Instorage Yorba Linda wants to build 110,000 square feet of storage space, and has agreed to build an automotive services shop in partnership with the city’s Redevelopment Agency, said Daniel Miller, interim city manager. The 4.9-acre property at 17071 Imperial Highway was left vacant in March 1998 when the car dealership moved to Anaheim Hills. The Redevelopment Agency hopes to use some of the land from the Instorage project to relocate businesses that may have to move as a result of another city project. Under redevelopment law, the city is required to provide relocation assistance when it displaces businesses by purchasing property.
