PLACENTIA

The Placentia Chamber of Commerce recently honored several local citizens for their volunteer work in the community.

Elizabeth Minter and Hugh Wood were chosen citizens of the year. Minter was nominated by the Placentia Round Table Women’s Club; Wood was nominated by the Placentia Rotary Club. They were chosen from among nine honorees nominated by various community service groups in the city.

The other nominees were: Nan Keating, guild of Placentia Linda Hospital; Carol Downey, American Assn. of University Women Placentia/Yorba Linda branch; Mary Castner, Placentia Founders Society; Ray Juarez, American Legion Post 277; John Walcek, Preserve Our Past; Veronica Harlan, Placentia Neighborhood Watch; and James Gaffney Jr., Placentia Neighborhood Watch.
