LOS ANGELES — The Board of Education has selected the headhunter firm of Hamilton, Rabinovitz and Alschuler to lead a search for a superintendent to replace Ruben Zacarias, who steps down Jan. 15.
Company officials said that if their first choice does not work out, they will conduct another search at no cost.
The school board has said it will consider candidates--seasoned educators and nontraditional administrators alike--with strong leadership experience.
Officials hope to have a new superintendent take office in July 2000.
