In a twofold celebration, the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana kicks off its Holiday Birthday Bash today. The weeklong festivities begin at 4 p.m. with the arrival of Santa Claus, who will flip a switch to illuminate a holiday bow that adorns the center’s trademark cube.
Carolers will sing songs of the season while guests experience the center’s new laser show and make holiday crafts to take home.
The Marines will be on hand to collect gifts for the Toys for Tots program. Through Dec. 19, anyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more can enjoy the center’s 100 hands-on exhibits for $2 off the regular admission price.
Activities will continue Dec. 18 and 19 with a birthday party complete with Santa Claus, special science-related activities and cake for all.
The Discovery Science Center is at 2500 N. Main St., Santa Ana. Open daily, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (714) 542-2823.
