LAKE FOREST
The search for a bone marrow donor for Foothill Ranch resident Tara Krogh will continue this month with a blood drive in Lake Forest on Dec. 22.
Krogh, the single mother of an infant boy, was diagnosed with leukemia a year ago. The disease can be cured only with a bone marrow transplant from a donor whose blood cells match Krogh’s, doctors at the City of Hope Cancer Center in Duarte said.
Krogh’s friends and family have held a series of blood drives in the past few months.
Only one person in about 20,000 will match with a patient, doctors said. About 60 area residents donated blood last month at a drive in Newport Beach.
Space is still available to register for the upcoming drive at Lake Forest Limousines, 22515 Aspan St., Suite B. The drive will run from noon to 6 p.m.
