TUSTIN
The Tustin Unified School District board on Monday unanimously approved discontinuing the administration of the California Achievement Test to students in grades three through eight because students are already required by the state to take the Stanford 9 test.
Administering two similar tests is expensive, uses valuable instructional time for students and negatively affects student and staff attitudes about assessment tests, district staff said.
Discontinuing the CAT 5 test will save the district $19,832 annually, the staff said.
