Parents Don’t Practice What They Preach

Share

The Lennox-Rivers family (“Unconventional Wisdom,” Dec. 12) think L.A. is too materialistic and not a good place for kids, yet they don’t seem to mind making their living from television commercials while living in a beautiful bungalow in Silver Lake.

They jokingly caution that kids are growing up so fast that soon they’ll have jobs, while putting their kids to work in car commercials. So they believe in ghosts and are adept at coming up with cleverly obscure names for their kids.

They are welcome to move to someplace really groovy any time, where I’m sure their life’s work of promoting materialistic Hollywood values will be welcomed with open arms. In the meantime, the rest of us Silver Lake residents will work on making our community a great place to raise kids by improving our schools, beautifying our lakes and parks, and building bike paths.
