It’s Parents’ Job to Lay Down Law
Re “Boy Charged in Pokemon Robbery” (Dec. 10):
How absurd to prosecute the 13-year-old Huntington Beach boy for allegedly stealing 150 Pokemon cards from another boy.
The Orange County district attorney’s office has no business involving itself in a situation that is the sole domain of these boys’ parents!
What next? Prosecuting the school bully for stealing lunch money? Kids will be kids, and it is up to their parents to discipline them and teach them the difference between right and wrong.
This dangerous trend of local government usurping the role of parents in their children’s lives must stop.
