Infant Car Seat Recalled Because of Defective Handle

WASHINGTON — Three-quarters of a million infant car seats are being recalled because of a potentially fatal flaw, the government said Sunday.
When used as infant carriers, the handles of these seats, made by Kolcraft Enterprises, can unexpectedly change position, causing the seat to rotate and the baby to fall to the ground.
At least one infant has suffered a skull fracture and two have suffered concussions. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says 42 infants have been hurt and that more than 3,000 reports of handle-related problems have been made.
For more information and to receive free repair kits, consumers can call Kolcraft at (877) 776-2609.
