Bergen Brunswig Board Adds Brent Martini

Brent R. Martini, president of Bergen Brunswig Corp.’s largest subsidiary, has been named to an expanded board of directors. Martini, who joined Bergen in 1987, is president of Bergen Brunswig Drug Co. and the son of Robert E. Martini, chairman and chief executive officer of the parent company in Orange. Bergen said it has expanded the board to 12 members with the addition of Martini.

* Scott Simon has joined the Pacific Investment Management Co. of Pimco Advisors Holdings LP in Newport Beach, where he will be responsible for mortgage investments. Pacific Investment oversees more than $168 billion in bonds. Simon was a senior managing director at New York-based Bear Stearns & Co.

* Bruce W. Kirby has been named vice president and general manager of the Santa Ana office of Crosby Mead Benton and Associates, a civil engineering, land planning and surveying services firm. He joined the company in 1995 as a project manager.

* Stephen Rubenstein has joined Providential Securities Inc. in Fountain Valley as vice president. Rubenstein is the former chairman of JB Oxford Holdings Inc. in Beverly Hills. He has also been a managing director of Price Waterhouse and chief financial officer and treasurer of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. Inc.

* Ernest T. Klinger has been elected to the board of directors of HomeBase Inc. in Irvine, increasing the size of the board to eight members. Klinger is president and co-chairman of the board of Chicago Pizza and Brewery Inc. in Mission Viejo.
