New Kid: I moved out to L.A. from New York about two years ago, and so much of my life revolves around work that I don’t get out to do as much as I should. So on my favorite weekend I would have my friends visiting from New York and I would show them all around.

Natural World: Friday would include horseback riding in Malibu. There’s a place near Pepperdine that rents horses, and we’d ride until we could watch the sun set over the Pacific. Then we’d drive up to Santa Barbara for dinner, since we’re halfway there.

Up and Away: Saturday morning, there’s a hang-gliding place near the dunes north of Santa Barbara. I’ve been hang-gliding about five years. You’re not supposed to go over the ocean, though, because if you land in the water you have a 90% chance of drowning.

Chow Time: We’d come back to L.A. and probably cook dinner at my home at the base of the Hollywood Hills. With a dinner party like this, for friends, it’s not really about what’s being cooked, but the company. So we might just have lots of hors d’oeuvres or small finger foods and sit around and drink wine.

Getty-ing There: Sunday we’d all go to the Getty Center. I’ve never been there--but I really should go. It’s supposed to offer the most cultural experience in L.A., and perched up there above Sunset Boulevard it’s such a landmark. We’d go up there, check it out, and have lunch at one of the restaurants.

All the Rest: I’d take everyone on a driving tour and show them downtown Hollywood, the Sunset Strip and Melrose, and then show the houses up in the hills, Roxbury Road, and by that time I’m sure I’d have a map to the stars’ homes too. We’d finish with dinner at Matsuhisa, the Japanese restaurant on La Cienega. I really trust the chef--so I’ll take whatever he makes. It’s an intimate place, not that extravagant, but the food is really well done, and it’s a fun place to take a group.
