Stuffings to Go

Turkey stuffings range from simple bread dressing to decadently rich side dishes. Here are some places that sell dressing to go for the holidays.

* Marmalade Cafe: These cafes have two stuffings to choose from: corn bread and wild mushrooms, or wild rice and fennel. * Gourmet Grub to Go: Caterer Mindy Lymperis has a corn bread stuffing, a chestnut stuffing with caramelized onions (and big pieces of turkey) and a 12-grain Il Fornaio bread stuffing with vegetables and chicken stock (defatted, if you like). * La Brea Bakery: While you’re shopping here, grab a container of Nancy Silverton’s mushroom bread pudding. It’s made with either sourdough or rosemary bread soaked in cream, then cooked with fresh thyme, sauteed leeks and cremini, shiitake and porcini mushrooms. (Mushroom bread pudding, 2 pounds $30.) * A La Carte: These quaint Laguna cafes offer two dressings: a savory one of French bread, corn bread, onions, mushrooms, leeks and walnuts, and a sweet one of French bread, squaw bread, apples, raisins and pecans. * Urban Epicuria: This upscale West Hollywood takeout shop offers bread stuffing made from homemade baguettes and a souffle-like Pennsylvania Dutch stuffing of saffron mashed potatoes, bread, onions, celery and lots of eggs.
