Geothermal Surveys Names Sorensen General Manager
* Geothermal Surveys Inc., also known as GSi/water, has appointed Ronald Sorensen its general manager. He was project manager of the South Pasadena-based company, which is a ground water resources exploration firm.
* Carl Enson has been named Los Angeles-area manager at Parsons Brinckerhoff, an engineering and construction firm based in Los Angeles. Enson will be responsible for the firm’s L.A. office operations in the transportation and infrastructure markets. He previously worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Washington, where he was head engineer for the Corps Civil Works Program.
* Fred Meyers has been promoted to executive vice president of national sales at YellowOnline.com, an Internet-based directory service based in Los Angeles. Meyers joined the company to start up its yellow pages sales department after working at the print yellow pages publisher. He will now be responsible for managing and building all sales at the national level. The company also named William Thompson as director of marketing. Thompson, founder of TV Inc., an advertising and marketing company, is also the author of “Inside Infomercials.”
* DB Products, a Pasadena-based maker of RF/microwave switching products, has appointed Julie Williams as marketing manager of the microwave switch division. She recently held management positions at K&L; Microwave and Ducommun Technologies.
* Jack in the Box Inc. has appointed Nancy Taylor vice president of the San Diego-based company’s Los Angeles region. Taylor, previously Northwest area manager, will be responsible for overseeing the operations of 165 company-operated restaurants in Southern California.
* Homestore.com, a Thousand Oaks-based home and real estate Internet site, appointed Dean Denhart chief information officer. He comes to Homestore.com from his position as vice president of the software systems group at AirTouchCellular, the U.S. operation of Vodafone AirTouch.
* George Eshaghian has been named director of Cushman Realty Corp., a Los Angeles-based real estate brokerage. He has served as a transactional real estate lawyer at law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Separately, the company has promoted Clayton Hovivian to senior vice president. He will be based in Los Angeles.
* Pasadena-based HomePage.com Inc., a provider of homepage-building services, has named Todd Piccus senior director of business and legal affairs, a new position. He previously was director of business and legal affairs at Mattel Interactive, the entertainment software division of Mattel Inc.
* Fox Interactive, a unit of News Corp.’s Fox Filmed Entertainment, has named Karly Young director of brand marketing. A former NovaLogic marketing executive, she will be responsible for product marketing.
