Police Radio Let True Colors Slip
Letter writer Bruce Crawford of Fountain Valley just doesn’t get it regarding race (Dec. 19).
He describes as “impolite and regrettable” racial slurs used by police on police radio.
What he totally misses is this: The racial attitudes vented on the radio are, of course, also present when police officers are out in the community enforcing the law.
Officers with such attitudes cannot and do not enforce laws equally or evenly.
Minority men are consistently targeted more than are white men in virtually every situation.
