The city’s biggest Y2K concern is the possibility of isolated disruption in power, said City Manager Tim Casey.
“Our focus will be on repositioning supplies and things like barricades and stop signs to place on intersections if traffic lights fail,” he said.
The city has already replaced its outdated telephone system, computers and software.
Employees will set up an emergency backup system at City Hall on Thursday, and the Council Chambers will be equipped with battery-operated lights, generators, two computers and a printer.
