The city recently finished replacing and upgrading its computers and software to avoid any Y2K computer glitches, city officials said.

The project to make sure computers could recognize dates after Dec. 31 cost about $50,000, said City Clerk Jeri Stately.

Financial records, building permits and other records are stored on city computer systems.

Local water districts and Southern California Edison don’t expect glitches to interrupt services, Stately said.
