The Chamber of Commerce will be having a “Phon-a-Thon” to recruit new members at the Armed Forces Reserve Center Jan. 19 and 20.
The motto for the campaign is “Taking Care of Business 2000” This is the first recruiting campaign for the chamber and is unusual because the event will take place on a military facility complete with an officer barking out orders to motivate the volunteers soliciting businesses to join.
Connie Pedenko, chief executive officer for the chamber, said volunteers from the business community are still needed and will be responsible for a two-hour shift. Members of the community are also welcome to donate small prizes.
