A staff report states the city has been planning for Y2K issues since 1990.

City officials compiled a long-term computer strategic plan that postponed the replacement of major computer systems and upgrades for the city’s financial systems until late 1998 to ensure its software would be Y2K compliant.

The report states that all of the city’s personal computers are considered Y2K compliant and passed a formal citywide test April 1.

Officials are also confident that all of its major maintenance services divisions will be unaffected by the turn of the new year and all of the outside agencies that do business with the city are as prepared, the report says.
