Small Manufacturers Discovering a Friend
Small manufacturing companies in Orange County are discovering the California Manufacturing Technology Center--a nonprofit organization formed to provide specialized consulting services to these businesses.
A total of 176 Orange County companies used the center’s services in 1998, according to its annual report, up 71% from 1997.
Most of them, center officials say, were seeking help in improving plant layout, work-flow management and automating production systems or designing products.
