Bicycle Registration Available at 2nd Site

Share

Thousand Oaks residents can now register their bicycles at the Police Resource Center in Newbury Park.

Previously, the only place was the East County Station on Olsen Road. There, applicants have to fill out a form and wait to get the completed registration in the mail.

By law, all bicycles must be registered with the city if they are used on public property in the city limits, officials said.

Joel Hockman, a member of the Crime Prevention Unit, said licensing makes it easier for the police to notify owners if lost or stolen bicycles have been found.

Bicycles can be registered for $5 at the Police Resource Center at 1400 W. Hillcrest, Newbury Park. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. For more information, call the center at 498-4200.
