Dale Dowers has resigned as president of Capital Pacific Holdings Inc. to pursue personal interests, the Newport Beach-based home builder said Tuesday. Hadi Makarechian, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, will assume the president’s title until further notice.
Dowers said that he has been looking for more than a year for an opportunity to step back from daily involvement in the company’s business. He was named chief operating officer of Capital Pacific in 1992, then president a year later. In 1996, he was elevated to chief executive, succeeding Makarechian. Early last year, Makarechian resumed the CEO duties, with Dowers resuming his roles as president and chief operating officer.
