Skiers and snowboarders are asked to make a trek to Mammoth for the Steve Woods Ski/Board-A-Thon on Feb. 13. Woods died in 1993 after a paint roller speared his head during an unprovoked attack by gang members in San Clemente. The sixth annual event is designed to raise funds for survivors of violent crime and child abuse. The $25 entry fee includes a T-shirt, trophies, prizes and an awards reception.
