Hef After Dark: Armani and Slippers

Share

Hefner’s trademark is his mansion wardrobe: pajamas. Of course, when he’s making the L.A. club scene, Hef dresses up. He loves Armani. But he is best known for his jammies. A peek into his closet.

* Pajamas: Hef works and lounges in imported silk jammies, custom-made by Los Angeles tailor Richard Brown. The 100 pairs of pajamas in 20 colors are hung--never folded--in Hef’s closet. They cost about $250 a pair.

* Smoking jackets: Hef has about 20 in his wardrobe. They are made of velvet and silk and are always--natch--tied with a sash. Hef gets them from Rick Pallack in Sherman Oaks and Nate Sherman in New York. Costs range from $500 to $1,000.

* Slippers: Hef chooses from about two dozen pairs in various colors, purchased from DeFabrizio and Neiman Marcus. Prices range from $250 to $500, depending on hard or soft sole.
