Santa Ana’s Verteq Gets $18-Million Infusion

Santa Ana-based Verteq Inc. said it has completed an $18-million private capital placement with Westar Capital, a local private equity firm.

Verteq will use the funds to reduce debt, expand research and for working capital, the company said. Launched in 1985, privately held Verteq builds silicon wafer cleaning systems for semiconductor manufacturers. The firm has nearly 300 employees.
