The Cypress/La Palma Youth Roller Hockey League kicks off its first season in the new Arnold/Cypress Roller Hockey Rink on Saturday. The $273,000 rink was a joint project between Cypress and La Palma, with Cypress paying about 70% of the costs, said Ron Kenny, La Palma’s director of recreation and community services. The game between junior high-age teams starts at 5 p.m., followed by two league games. The outdoor rink, completed last fall, includes bleachers, full dasher boards, penalty boxes and lights.
