2 Executives Appointed at Toshiba

Paul Wexler has been named senior vice president in the communications information group of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. in Irvine. He is responsible for the telecommunications systems division. Wexler was previously vice president and general manager of the division. In addition, Michael J. Knudsen has joined the company as vice president and general manager of the network products division. He had been vice president of North America sales and marketing for Digi International.

Stephen J. Demetor has joined Koo Koo Roo Enterprises Inc. in Irvine, formerly known as Family Restaurants Inc., as director of construction. He had been with Islands Restaurants. Sarah J. Rousek, formerly with Extended Stay America, Boston Market and Foodmaker, was appointed to the newly created position of director of real estate development for Southern California. In addition, Linda K. Duncan, most recently with McDonald’s Northern California real estate group, has been named director of real estate development, focused on Northern California.

Julian M. Goldman has been appointed vice president of medical affairs for Masimo Corp. He was formerly an anesthesiologist at the University of Colorado.

Robert W. Cox has been elected a director of HomeBase Inc. in Irvine, increasing the board to eight members. Cox has been with the law firm of Baker & McKenzie since 1992.

Dick Weil, senior vice president of Pimco Advisors LP in Newport Beach, has been named general counsel. Weil has been legal counsel to Pimco Advisors and to Pacific Investment Management Co. since March 1996. Before joining Pimco, he was with Bankers Trust Co.’s global asset management division, and even earlier, with the law firm of Simpson, Thacher and Bartlett.

Arnie Attell has joined TH&M; Advertising in Tustin as director of business development. Attell has worked with several Los Angeles and Orange County agencies and operated his own agency for 16 years. Most recently, he was a business development and account management consultant for advertising agencies.

Judith G. Kahn has joined Creamer Dickson Basford’s technology practice as vice president and group director. She will be in the Irvine office. Kahn had been with Shafer Public Relations, where she was executive vice president of strategic development. Previously, she was senior vice president at Kalman Communications in Santa Monica and managed public relations at the Michelson Co. in Los Angeles.

Chris Epting has joined Heil-Brice Retail Advertising in Newport Beach. He was formerly with Italia/Gal in Los Angeles.

Susanne Hays has joined the Danhausen Group, a Costa Mesa marketing and advertising agency, as account executive. She was previously director of marketing for Deluxe Color Printers in Newport Beach.

Jim Kopycki has been appointed president of the Mykotronix division of Rainbow Technologies Inc. in Irvine. He will also serve as senior vice president of Rainbow. Kopycki previously spent three years as president and chief operating officer at Vanguard Integrity Professionals. In addition, Norman L. Denton III has been named executive vice president of the Sentinel business unit. Denton heads worldwide sales and marketing for Rainbow’s software-security products. Before joining Rainbow, he was vice president of sales and marketing for Promod Inc., a privately held software-design automation company.

Patti Dodge has been named senior vice president, controller, of New Century Mortgage Corp. in Irvine. Dodge joined the company in 1996 as vice president and controller.

Robert K. Shibuya has been appointed executive managing director of West Coast operations for Insignia/ESG Inc. in Irvine. He will head the regional brokerage, property management, agency leasing, fee-development and retail operations from the Pacific Northwest to Arizona. Shibuya has led the company’s operations in California for the past two years. He succeeds John G. Combs, who was named executive managing director of the property services group for the New York-based company.

Thomas Boyd has been appointed vice president of North American agency sales for Interpore Cross International in Irvine. Robert J. Matthew was named area vice president and Daniel Bernarde, division manager. All three were formerly with Surgical Dynamics, a manufacturer of spinal implant products and a division of U.S. Surgical.

Terry Hartshorn has been appointed to the board of directors of Professional Bancorp and its wholly owned subsidiary First Professional Bank, N.A., in Santa Monica. Hartshorn is vice chairman of the board of directors of PacifiCare Health Systems Inc.

Alexander L. Conti has been elected partner in the Irvine office of Snell & Wilmer LLP. Conti, who joined the firm in 1991 as an associate, concentrates his practice in product-liability litigation.

Jill Bonner has been named director of retail banking for Downey Savings and Loan Assn. in Newport Beach. She succeeds Paul Woollatt, who was appointed chief operating officer. Bonner had been director of branch operations for 16 years.

Sandy J. Milo, vice president, is the manager of Bank of Commerce’s new branch banking and SBA loan office in Anaheim. Before joining the San Diego-based bank, Milo was with Quaker City Federal in Brea, Key Bank in Oregon and Bay View Federal in Orange.
