Cory Lopez of San Clemente took second in the men’s surfing finals of the O’Neill Cold Water Classic at Steamer’s Lane in Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz surfer Chris Gallagher won the contest. San Clemente’s Mike Losness finished second in the junior division and Colin McPhillips, also of San Clemente, took second in the longboard competition.
The O’Neill Cold Water Classic is the first stop of the Panasonic Shockwave Tour. The next stop will be in April at Lower Trestles in San Clemente.
