The City Council tonight will consider approving $48,577 for additional work to compensate for the loss of wetlands at the soon-to-be-built community center and sports park. The site of the new $22-million park was home to about 30 Southwestern pond turtles, a California species of special concern. The turtles and plants from the wetlands will be relocated to Aliso Woods Park. The council meets at 7 p.m. in chambers, 25201 Paseo de Alicia, Suite 150. Information: (949) 707-2600.
