Bruins May Have a Big Problem

Share

The Bruins tonight face what Coach Steve Lavin says might be the best frontline in the country with their own big men struggling to stay healthy.

Center Dan Gadzuric has been battling tendinitis in both knees all season, but now power forward Jerome Moiso is also hampered because of sore arches in both feet.

The delicate nature of the injuries means Lavin is unable to say whether either will start tonight at Maples Pavilion as No. 6 Stanford plays host to No. 9 UCLA.

Moiso’s problem, which makes his soles tender, developed in his right foot about 2 1/2 weeks ago. He got an injection after Sunday’s game against Oregon State to help with the pain--the same day discomfort began in the left foot.

“The worst thing is to think about it,” said Moiso, who is wearing pads in his shoes. “There’s nothing you can do when it bothers you. It just kind of slows you down.”

Coming up: Saturday at California, Feb. 17 vs. USC.
