Cancer Center to Put on Fashion Show

* Ventura County cancer survivors will serve as models for the Cancer Center of Ventura County’s annual Heart and Soul of Fashion show from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Residence Inn by Marriott at River Ridge, 2101 Vineyard Ave., Oxnard. Film Presentation to Aid Oak Grove School

* “Earth and the American Dream,” a film written, directed and produced by Ojai’s Bill Couturie, will be presented in a benefit screening at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ojai Playhouse, 145 E. Ojai Ave.

Proceeds will go toward the Oak Grove School financial aid program.

Through the Earth’s viewpoint, the film looks at the price the Earth has paid as its population has searched for the American dream. Couturie’s filmmaking credits include the NBC miniseries “The ‘60s,” “Common Threads: Stories From the Quilt” and “Who Are the Debolts and Where Did They Get 19 Kids?”

Benefit Performance of Musical in Moorpark

* Volunteers 4 You, a nonprofit group formed by the Moorpark College nursing department and Simi Valley Hospital, will present the Neil Simon musical “Sweet Charity” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Moorpark College Performing Arts Center, 7075 Campus Road. Sale to Help Fund Playground Equipment

* The Poinsettia School Parent Teacher Organization will hold a rummage sale and pancake breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday at the school, 350 N. Victoria Ave., Ventura. Food Share Schedules Annual Hike

* Food Share’s eighth annual Hike Against Hunger will be held Saturday and Feb. 21 beginning at San Buenaventura State Beach off Harbor Boulevard, Ventura. There are hike routes of 2, 4 and 8 miles, as well as a 30-mile hike to Santa Barbara.
