Gary Sinise, who co-stars with Ben Affleck in the upcoming movie “Reindeer Games,” and his actress wife, Moira Harris, have purchased a Malibu home for about $2.4 million.
Sinise, who gained fame and an Oscar nomination for playing the legless Lt. Dan in “Forrest Gump” (1994), won an Emmy last year for his TNT movie portrayal of the late Gov. George Wallace.
Sinise, 43, also stars in the Disney movie “Mission to Mars,” due out in the summer. “Reindeer Games” is scheduled to start shooting in March.
Sinise and Harris bought a 6,000-square-foot Italian Florentine-style house on nearly two acres with a view of the mountains. The home also has a 1,000-square-foot guest house and a sports complex with a basketball court.
The three-story main house has five bedrooms and guest quarters. The home has limestone floors and mahogany woodwork.
The compound was designed and built in 1994 by Westside builder Eric Fishburn for himself, and the interiors are being designed by Susan Cohen Associates of Santa Monica, real estate sources said.

Sandy Gallin, who managed stars including Dolly Parton and Neil Diamond before he became a producer of such shows as the TV series “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer,” has listed a 3.2-acre site in Bel-Air at $13.5 million.
Gallin was about to build a house on the site when he took a new job in June as chief executive of the entertainment arm of Steve Wynn’s Mirage Resorts.
The land, described as looking like a golf course, has city, ocean and mountain views.
Gallin also listed a home he bought in Las Vegas a year ago, “because he’s on the road a lot and spends considerable time in New York in connection with Mirage Entertainment & Sports,” said June Scott of June Scott Estates, a Coldwell Banker-Jon Douglas Co., in Beverly Hills.
His Las Vegas home, which has five bedrooms in 7,000 square feet, is listed with Scott at $6.5 million, furnished. Scott also has Gallin’s Bel-Air listing, and she represented him last year in selling his Malibu home for nearly $13 million.
Tim Leiweke, president of the Los Angeles Kings and Staples Center as well as Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy, and his wife, Bernadette, have put their Holmby Hills home on the market at just under $1.8 million.
They plan to move to a newly built home in Brentwood.
Their Holmby Hills home was formerly owned by the late actress-dancer Juliet Prowse, who died at 59 in 1996. The sports executive, 41, and his wife have owned the home for slightly more than two years. They bought it from Prowse’s estate.
The country English-style house, built in the late 1930s, has three bedrooms and five baths in about 4,000 square feet.

Stephen Francis Jones, the architect for such trendy places as Typhoon in Santa Monica and Barfly on Sunset Strip, has purchased a $415,000 Manhattan Beach home, which he is rehabbing and more than doubling in size.
Jones, whose firm is based in Marina del Rey, worked with owner Brian Vidor on Santa Monica Airport’s sushi bar, the Hump, and he collaborated with Barbara Lazaroff, chef Wolfgang Puck’s wife and business partner, on Spago Beverly Hills and Chinois in Las Vegas.
Jones, in his 30s, bought an 875-square-foot house with two bedrooms and one bath, which he is expanding to 2,200 square feet with four bedrooms, four baths and a family room.
He and his wife, urban planner Stephanie Eyestone-Jones, plan to move into the house.
A seven-bedroom Salt Lake City mansion, built in 1901, has been listed at about $4.5 million.
The 21,000-square-foot-plus Victorian-style house was built for businessman Alfred William McCune and his wife, Elizabeth Ann Claridge McCune.
The McCunes lived in the three-story red sandstone home on more than an acre until 1920, when they moved to Los Angeles. The house has 18 marble fireplaces, an orchestra pit, a dumbwaiter, secret passageway, grand ballroom and caretaker’s apartment.
After moving, the McCunes donated their home to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which used the building as a school for art and music. Recently, the house has been used for filming, including a segment of the TV series “Touched by an Angel.”
The house has been owned by J.R. and Steven Green since 1995. J.R. Green is president and chief executive of Mountain States Mortgage Center, one of the largest female-owned businesses in Utah. Steven Green is a rancher.
The house is listed with William Winstead of Lewis, Wolcott & Dornbush Real Estate, a Sotheby’s affiliate, in Park City.
