UCLA Takes a Big Slide to No. 16

Duke, Connecticut and Auburn held the top three spots in the Associated Press poll Monday, while UCLA took the week’s biggest fall in dropping from No. 9 to 16th.

Duke (25-1) received 64 first-place votes and 1,744 points from the national media panel after breaking the 100-point mark twice and winning by an average of 38.5 points in their two games last week. Connecticut (22-1), which also won twice last week, got the other six No. 1 votes and 1,677 points.

Cincinnati, which lost to Marquette and Saint Louis last week and is on a three-game losing streak, fell from fourth to No. 9, its lowest ranking since jumping to sixth in late November.

In the women’s Associated Press poll, Tennessee, coming off tough victories over Auburn and Vanderbilt, remained No. 1. UCLA is ranked 13th and UC Santa Barbara 20th.
