KMEX-TV Names New Station Manager

Diego T. Ruiz has been appointed station manager at Spanish-language KMEX-TV, the flagship outlet of the Univision network, the Los Angeles station announced. Ruiz, who will focus on the station’s sales and operations, spent the last 18 months in the network’s executive training program, a project Univision set up to develop the company’s new generation of managers. During that time, he also worked on a number of projects on the station and network level, including the creation of KMEX’s morning news program. Before joining the network, Ruiz served on the staffs of Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Newport Beach) and Rep. Mark Souder (R-Ind.). He has also worked as a consultant to former Nicaraguan President Violeta Barrios de Chamorro.
