Foot Therapy? Sock It to Me

Share

The secret to relieving everything from pains in the neck to a bad hangover is in the feet, according to celebrity massage therapist Michelle Kluck. And that is precisely why Kluck designed her new Reflexology Sox--to help you pinpoint the right spots and cure the problem.

Each one-size-fits-all nylon sock has a colorful design of reflexology points on the sole. In each foot there are more than 7,000 nerve endings called reflexes, which correspond to systems in the body. To identify them, put the socks on your feet, aligning the printed toes and heel on each sock with your own toes and heel.

“Everything in the body is connected through nerves to the hands, feet and ears. When you feel graininess or tenderness in the foot, it can be a sign of weakness or imbalance in a corresponding part of body,” Kluck explains. “The socks are an easy way of seeing what’s going on with your body.”

Kluck is president of Basic Knead, a massage therapy company in L.A. Her clients include Ashley Judd, Salma Hayek and Michael Bolton. Reflexology socks are about $20 and come with a booklet explaining different massage techniques. Call (310) 572-8578 for information.
