* Advanced Micro Devices Inc., Intel Corp.’s biggest rival in the PC microprocessor market, today will unveil its K6-3 chip, aimed at both business users and home buyers. The new chip, which will sell for $284 and $476 depending on its speed, is designed to compete with Intel’s new Pentium III. Unlike previous AMD chips, it runs Microsoft Corp.’s Windows NT software at comparable rates to Intel’s.

* America Online Inc. today will unveil CompuServe 2000, a revamped version of the venerable online service that was born in 1979. The company says it will offer faster Internet connections, easier installation and navigation, and personalized features.

* Industrial group United Technologies Corp., which owns jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney, is in talks to acquire aerospace components supplier Sundstrand Corp. of Rockford, Ill., for $4 billion, Britain’s Financial Times reported.
