LAKE FOREST

Mayor Peter Herzog and Mayor Pro Tem Richard T. Dixon have been appointed by the City Council to serve on the city’s annexation task force. Lake Forest will try to annex Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills this year and must form a task force to smooth the process. Residents of the two communities tried to form their own city last year but were defeated when Lake Forest annexed 1,502 acres of commercial property that would have been their tax base.
