Several of the county’s unsung heroes will be honored Saturday at the 24th annual Cypress College Americana Awards Night. The event recognizes citizens who have made significant contributions to the Orange County community and live in the cities surrounding the college. In addition to nine Citizens of the Year, the college has selected an Americana Woman of the Year and Distinguished Business Partner. More than 500 guests are expected to attend the banquet, which raises money for scholarships and educational needs not covered by the college’s regular budget. Information: (714) 826-3631.
