The City Council recently authorized a contract for a new company to maintain the city’s traffic signals, the first time in 20 years that the previous contractor has not been retained. Superior Signal Service Co. of Bell Gardens recently ended its contract with the city because it is ceasing its operations in the area, according to Public Works Director Ismile Noorbaksh. The council authorized a contract with Peek Traffic-Signal Maintenance Inc. of Anaheim to maintain 19 signals at a cost of $872.50 per month.
