Faced with a little extra cash flowing into their accounts, City Council members voted unanimously Monday to spend some of it. The council members agreed to bring the Recreation Department’s computers up to date with a $15,000 make-over and to spend nearly $100,000 on renovations for the Los Alamitos Armed Forces Reserve Center Pool, said assistant city manager Gerard Goedhart. The extra income came from some vacant city positions, higher fines and forfeitures than expected and reimbursement from insurance companies, city officials said.
