From Times Wire Reports

Montana is about to shed its image as the great American speedway. On a vote of 42 to 8, the state Senate sent a bill to Gov. Marc Racicot that would end the state’s status as the nation’s only state without a daytime speed limit. Racicot has said he’ll sign the measure, which will take effect May 28, on the eve of the Memorial Day weekend. Under the bill, cars and light trucks would have a 75-mph limit on interstate highways, except in areas near Billings, Great Falls and Missoula, where the maximum would be 65 mph.
