Nasdaq market officials halted trading in Trimedyne Inc. stock Friday in what company officials described as a paperwork glitch. The Irvine company, which designs medical lasers, said it was late in filing a report regarding its plan to change its name to Trimedyne International Inc. as it moves to sell products internationally. The trading symbol--TMED--will remain the same, the company said. Nasdaq’s statement said only that trading had been halted because officials needed “additional information.” Nasdaq declined to comment further. The stock should resume trading Monday or Tuesday, Trimedyne Chairman Marvin Loeb said. The shares closed Thursday at 97 cents, off 3 cents.
