Xircom Official Elected to Association’s Board

Xircom announced that its director of worldwide product marketing, Bita Katz, has been elected to serve on the Personal Computer Memory Card International Assn.’s 1998-99 board of directors.

The association, founded in 1989, is an international standards body and trade association for mobile computing peripherals.

With more than 300 member companies, the association drives standards development for mobile computing peripherals while promoting the worldwide adoption of PC card technology.

Thousand Oaks-based Xircom manufactures mobile-integrated PC cards and PC card products, which connect portable computer users to corporate networks, the Internet and other online resources.

“The addition of Bita Katz to the board of directors of PCMCIA will bring technical marketing expertise from a fast-paced environment and is sure to strengthen our organization,” said Patrick Maher, association executive director.

Xircom has regional headquarters in Tokyo, Singapore and Antwerp, Belgium.
