Omron Healthcare’s Body Logic Pro is the first hand-held analyzer that determines body fat with the press of a button. The analyzer goes with you wherever you go--to the health club, on a business trip, even to that late-night binge at Wendy’s--providing a reading in just 7 seconds.

The 1-pound, battery-operated device is roughly the size of a small paperback book, with a grips on each end.

How does it work? Electrodes send a current to the hands, then measure the resistance the body gives off as the current flows through it. Because fat tissues have little or no electric conductivity, the method works to determine the ratio of fat to other tissues.

Body fat is calculated based on height, weight, age and gender, and results are displayed in percentage and in pounds of fat.
