In Orange Empire Conference men’s games:

Fullerton 75, Riverside 74--Fullerton built a 17-point halftime lead, but had to overcome a six-point Riverside lead with 5:58 remaining. Ronald Strange hit two free throws with four seconds left to give the host Hornets the victory. Jerry McNair scored 25 points, including four three-point goals for Fullerton.

Golden West 69, Saddleback 62--Jeff Jensen hit a three-pointer with 1:39 remaining to extend Golden West’s lead to, 65-57. He finished with 25 points and was nine for 11 from the field for the Rustlers (6-11, 1-1).

Irvine Valley 77, Cypress 61--Ben Esplin (17 points) scored six straight points to help Irvine Valley pull away from a 53-53 tie in the second half. Cypress trailed 35-19 at the half, but rallied to tie the score with eight minutes left in the game. Commander King scored 21 points for Irvine Valley (15-4, 2-0).
