Police Seek Information in Irvine Assault

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who assaulted a teenage girl in her Irvine home.

The attack occurred about 4 p.m. Friday near Misty Run and and West Yale Loop, Irvine police said.

When the girl came home, she found a man in his late teens in the house.

He sexually assaulted her, then ran away just as the victim’s mother came home, according to the police report.

Police arrived within minutes and searched the area, but the man escaped.

The attacker is described as white, about 18, 6 feet tall with a thin but muscular build and dark, thick collar-length hair. He was wearing black jeans and a tan, long-sleeve shirt and was last seen running through a park toward Blue Lake South.
