Share

Pinkerton’s Inc. in Westlake Village has acquired HBI SicherheitsDienste GmbH & Co., a security services provider with headquarters in Offenbach, Germany.

HBI provides contract security services to businesses throughout Hessen, the central industrial state surrounding Frankfurt. HBI has a particularly significant presence in the Rhein Main region, a key industrial and commercial area of Hessen that encompasses Frankfurt, Offenbach, Weisbaden and Mainz.

The company’s 1998 revenues are expected to be about $18.7 million.

“Geographically, Pinkerton’s expansion into Hessen complements our existing operation in southern Germany, which is one of our most successful operating units,” said Denis R. Brown, Pinkerton president and chief executive officer. “This acquisition and future initiatives will advance Pinkerton’s position as a leading provider of world-class security services in continental Europe.”

Detlef Holz, HBI’s principal owner, will continue as managing director of the company.

Pinkerton also announced that it has acquired the money- and valuables-transport business of Kemptener Wach & Schliess GmbH, based in Kempten, Germany.

This transaction will enable Pinkerton to expand its established cash-in-transit security capabilities into southern Germany to the Austrian border.
