Meeting Planned on County Court System

Share

Residents may suggest ways to better run the county court system during a meeting at the San Fernando Courthouse on Tuesday night.

Valley residents can propose ideas regarding jury reform, public access or other public service issues, said Jerrianne Hayslett, a spokeswoman with the Los Angeles Superior Court. People may also discuss the civil, juvenile and criminal systems, she said.

Residents will meet with a county team composed of judges and representatives from women’s shelters and legal aid, religious and other community groups, Hayslett said.

The Valley meeting is the second of five sessions being held around the county, part of a statewide effort began in May by state Chief Justice Ronald George.

The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the court’s jury assembly room at 900 3rd St. For more information, call (213) 974-5227.
