FULLERTON
Controversy looms over proposed attendance boundary changes in the Fullerton School District. More than 200 parents, teachers and residents attended the school board meeting Tuesday night, concerned about how the changes could affect their neighborhood schools.
The changes, which affect the areas east of Harbor Boulevard, are a result of the trustees’ recent decisions to reopen Beechwood School as a full neighborhood campus and Maple School as a K-3 school this September. The Attendance Boundary Committee members said they tried to follow logical geographic lines and listen to the community’s input gathered at a meeting last week.
The trustees will review the proposed boundaries and recommendations and may take action at the Jan. 25 meeting.
