Disneyland Mishap

Re your Jan. 1 editorial, “Real Death in the Real World”:

Your editorial hit the nail on the head. Any other company or individual would not be accorded the grace period for “cleanup” that Disney was afforded in the Columbia tragedy. The striking thing is that evidence was moved, disturbed, “polluted” if you will. Anyone else doing that would be subject to an obstruction-of-justice inquiry.

The “land of make-believe” has for too long gotten away with “make-believe” in its handling of criminal and civil issues. Perhaps the grand jury has room on its schedule to figure out why the police were kept at bay, while the scene of the incident was altered, moved, etc. Disney shouldn’t be allowed to script the accident; the only title that fits is “Cover-Up.”
