From Times Wire Reports

The House ethics committee plans to investigate the House Transportation Committee chairman’s last three campaigns. Rep. Bud Shuster (R-Pa.) already was under investigation for his professional and personal ties with Ann Eppard, a transportation lobbyist who was his chief of staff for 22 years. The panel will consider whether Shuster’s campaigns broke federal law or House rules. Shuster spokesman Scott Brenner said Shuster would have no comment beyond a pledge to cooperate. The Associated Press found Shuster’s campaign listed tens of thousands of dollars spent at restaurants, hotels, Broadway theaters and liquor stores under the banner of “political meetings.” Eppard is his treasurer and fund-raiser.
